MODERN FIRE REBUILD

After the clients’ home was destroyed in the Thomas fire in December 2017, they sought to create a new home on the same site, but taking advantage of the view that the previous home had not. Bildsten Architecture and Planning helped them rework the site plan so that the house was located at street level, rather than below it, as it had been before. The new design allows the clients to drive straight across a flat driveway, and places the main living spaces on a higher level that allows them to enjoy beautiful panoramic views. Additional bedrooms and a recreation room are placed on the lower floor so the shared spaces can maximize the view.
