Paul Rupp

Project Architect, AIA, NCARB

Paul Rupp is driven by a deep passion for the transformational power of great design. With over 30 years of experience in architecture, Paul holds licenses in California, Nevada, New York, and Washington State, and has successfully led projects across the country and internationally. His leadership has been instrumental in achieving American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honor and Merit Awards for Design and Execution, with over $200 million in completed construction value.

In Santa Barbara, before joining Bildsten Architecture & Planning, Paul played a significant role in two iconic projects: the MOXI Museum and the Santa Barbara Bowl.

Serving as the project architect and manager for the Santa Barbara Bowl for 12 years, Paul oversaw its transformation through eight phases of development, taking it from concept to tens of millions of dollars in realized construction. Today, the Bowl stands as a stunning community landmark and world-class performance venue. Reflecting on his early experience working on New York’s Bryant Park in 1992, Paul recalls that it was then he learned “how partnerships are a powerful mechanism to support the community and transform places.”
